$25,000 reward for information leading to his discovery. officials remain hopeful he will be found alive ... by nature they say they are hopeful group sheriff's police in central illinos have issued an amber alert for a newborn girl. the baby - mia graci thompson - was abducted from the back seat of a car in front of a post office in the town of toulon this morning. stark county sheriff's police say the suspect was a women with a car filled with items in the back seat. mia is only three weeks old. she was wearing a yellow one- zee with flowers on the left shoulder ... and blue jeans with pink flowers on the cuffs. anyone with information has advised to call 911 immediately ... a 60-year-old man is facing animal cruelty charges.. after dozens of dead cats were found in a van outside his house.

wgn's nancy loo has the story.. she's live at the home in elgin. >>the man posted bonn last night but is due back in court november 2nd in the home he kept where over 70 live and dead cats will soon be condemned ... that's to 59 villa st. he refused to answer the door today the city will condemn this home if it is not cleaned by tomorrow ... he tried to hide after he posted $150,000 bail last night he admitted to police that he kept dozens of dead and live cats at his home an acquaintance said that he had good intentions >>he cannot keep up his house he is no longer able to work and we don't know how long he had been accumulating them ... in a van on the property a dead

dog and several dead cats were found one dozen live cats were rescued and taken to an animal hospital it is believed that the man could not afford some many animals but no one suspected anything was amiss ... >>i saw him a few days ago he seemed fine to me i did not know he was using his van as the casket for those cats ... >>he told police that he put the dog and the cats into the van after they died he faces nine misdemeanor counts including four counts of animal cruelty -- a male model is in federal custody after causing a big disturbance on board a united airlines flight from chicago to southern california. 26-year-old arash durrani faces charges for interfering with a flight crew. began pacing up and down the aisle about 45 minutes into tuesday night's flight. he then tried to kiss women and began harassing others on the plane.

[help me please help me....] that's durrani screaming ... as passengers pinned him down. they used belts to keep him restrained for three hours ... before the plane finally landed safely at john wayne airport in orange county. he tried to punch and kick us he broke the seat he tried to bite me he tried to bite a doctor that was helping him and another guy >>he was on something and had a lot of alcohol as soon as he got on the plane he was already drunk they should have stopped him ...a doctor sedated duranni with a shot of valium... but duranni still fought to get out of his restraints. no one was hurt in the incident. -- the number of west nile cases continues to climb in illinois and across the country.

in dupage county.. 28 human cases have been reported so far this year.. and four people have died. the patients range in age from the 20's to the 70's. the county health department says the infection has turned up in 12 dupage communites including addison, downers grove, elmhurst, naperville and westmont. west nile virus is spread to humans by infected mosquitoes. commuters avenue and convenient way to pay for their fares ... it's called ventura and commuters will be allowed to pay for rights the same way that they make everyday purchases there will have a variety of single rides and one day passes and they can use credit and debit cards there will be a contact list electronic system to facilitate the transaction coming up next: after a lockout that began before the nfl's preseason regular referees are set to return to the field tonight. and a new tip leads to another dig in the search for former teamsters boss jimmy hoffa... this time under a driveway in

jesse jackson jr may be planning to go back to work as soon as next week. jackson's doctors have given him the okay to return to work if he feels up to it.. but facing reporters has reportedly made things difficult. congressman jackson has been on medical leave due to mental health problems since june 10th. the battleground moves to virginia today... as president obama and mitt romney mark the third straight day the candidates are campaigning in the same state. romney appeared at a veterans event in springfield, virginia. he warned voters that military cuts proposed by the white house would have a major impact on virginia. the impact would be significant and immediate here in virginia 160,000 jobs could be lost in virginia as a result of this defense cut move ... romney also released a new ad

today aimed at coal miners. it includ video of obama as a candidate in 2008 saying he would support laws to force emitters of greenhouse gases to buy allowances at auction. polls show romney trailing president barack obama in just about every one of the swing states. the president just wrapped up his speech to supporters in virginia beach. obama is still hammering romney over his secretly recorded comments at a florida fundraiser. obama has a slight lead in the state, but undecided voters make it close. the president's campaign is buying tv time in seven battleground states to promote what he calls a "new economic patriotism." both candidates are trying to gain ground before next week's debate. first lady michelle obama is back in town. she's set to speak at two fundraisers for the president's re-election campaign today. one event is at harpo studios on the near west side. the second event is hosted by the lgbt leadership council at

the home of a campaign donor. the first lady will also tape an appearance for 'the steve harvey show' in downtown chicago. that taping will air on monday. israel's prime minister will deliver a strong warning to iran during his address at the united nations today. benjamin netanyahu will issue an ultimatum... saying his country could launch a pre- emptive miltary strike if iran doesn't stop trying to create a nuclear weapon. iran claims it's not developing any nukes. the palestinian president will also adress the u.n. today. he's expected to ask world leaders to recognize palestine as a so-called "observer state." the united nations refugee agency and other humanitarian groups are appealing for nearly half a billion dollars to help those trying to escape the civil war in syria. the agency says 294,000

syrian refugees have already flocked to jordan, lebanon iraq and turkey. that number could reach 700- thousand by the end of the year. there was more shelling and heavy gunfire in several syrian cities today.. and opposition activists say at least 22 more people were killed. the opposition says more than 30,000 have died since anti- government unrest began in march of last year. police have received new most well-known and mysterious disappearances in u.s. history. a tipster informed police that a body was buried beneath a driveway at a home in suburban detroit in 1975... around the same time mobster jimmy hoffa disappeared. the tipster didn't say it was hoffa's body, but police believe the information is credible. crews will begin digging tomorrow morning and will send a soil sample to a forensic anthropologist to test for human remains. results from the testing should come next week.

the nfl and the referees' union finally reach a deal on a new contract... an agreement that couldn't come soon enough for fans, players, and coaches. the two sides announced the agreement shortly after midnight... ending a lockout that began in june. here are some of the highlights of the deal: salary raises from an average of 205,000 by 2019. remain in place for current officials through the 2016 season or until a ref earns 20 years of service, then the plan will be frozen. after that, the league will offer a 401-k type benefit. the agreement will be good for eight years. the union's 121 members will vote on friday and saturday. well-known and well-buffed referee ed hochuli says he started doing pushups once he heard about the deal. the organizers of the world cup are trying to figure out what to do when the soccer tournament moves to the persian gulf. the world cup will be played in qatar in 2022. it's usually played in june and july ... but organizers are concerned about the oppressive heat that time of year. moving it to later in the year could disrupt soccer leagues in several countries ... and moving it up could conflict with the winter olympics. the head of europe's soccer committee says the world cup could be moved to november or december with minimal impact on the other soccer leagues.
